We are delighted to announce that Angus Robertson has been awarded an MBE in the New Years Honours list.

Many of you will know Angus as he has been a practising clinical photographer for more than 36 years. He has specialised in dental photography since he took up a position as Head of Medical and Dental Illustration at the Leeds Dental Institute in 1985. He was made Principal Fellow in Clinical Illustration in 1999.

Angus has worked tirelessly on behalf of IMI and the profession, serving on various groups and committees. He served as Honorary Secretary for more than 17 years before becoming IMI’s Chairman in 2007. He was made a Fellow of the Institute of Medical Illustrators in 2001 and an Honorary Fellow in 2009.

Angus has also been a Director of the Committee for the Accreditation of Medical Illustration Practitioners since 1991 and was elected Chairman of the National Board of Registration of Medical Illustrators in 1996. Angus has also represented IMI in Europe in his association with the European Federation of the Scientific Image.

His dedicated contribution to the medical illustration profession has been great and this was recognised when in 1993, IMI awarded him its most prestigious award, the Norman K. Harrison Gold Medal.
