Waba is the company that brings you Medical Image Manager. The first and only purpose built solution to allow health care professionals access to medical photographs at workstations in their clinic or ward, using a simple web browser.

What does Medical Image Manager deliver?

Increased access to images
MIM allows images to be shared across all your Trust’s sites. This feature would allow a consultant from one department to be able to access specialist opinion from anywhere in the Trust instantaneously.

Integration of images with patient records
As an integral part of the NHS national programme, medical images of all modalities will be tightly integrated with the NHS Care Record Service (CRS), removing the traditional barrier between images and other patient records and providing a single source for clinical information.

“A key benefit of Medical Image Manager is its ability to integrate with other Trust systems such as PAS and CRS. Medical Photography departments must ensure that their work can be incorporated within the mainstream of NHS operations – rather than using standalone systems and risking being marginalised from the main Trust strategy”
(Martin Johns, ex-director of Medical Photography Addenbrooke’s)

Guaranteed major system performance
As an integrated digital care solution, MIM has undergone rigorous testing and comes with a guarantee of technical support and service to ensure that it can deliver the day-to-day facilities that photographers, clinicians and IT need and demand.

ACS

Advanced Camera Services (ACS) are offering InfraRed, UV and Quartz filter conversions on most digital SLRs. They can fit any of the filters to your donor camera or can supply cameras already converted.

With this digital infra red photography conversion it is now possible to photograph infra red images hand held at low ISO speeds and without the need for infra red filters.  Since you no longer need to use an IR filter in the front of your lens it is much easier to change lenses, compose and focus.

With digital UV photography conversion it is now possible to photograph UV images although exposures will be long, you can still focus and compose.  UV flashguns are available to enable UV flash photography at hand held speeds.

With our quartz IR and visible photography conversions, it is now possible to place IR or UV filters in front of your lenses making your camera dual purpose but lacking the focusing and metering advantages of individual IR/UV conversions.

ACS (patent applied for) UV conversions will allow the user to photograph patients for dermatological uses, such as changes in pigmentation lesions and Vitiligo, also forensic use for old injuries such as bite marks and scars and for the use in dentistry.

ACS will clean and service the camera and give a full six months warranty on work carried out.  Quote your IMI membership number to save 10% on most services offered.

Conversion prices on application from just £250.

medialogix

Medialogix Ltd was formed 5 years ago to develop software and techniques that manage vast quantities of images.

Five years on and we have had a record year for sales and our forecast for next year is for increased sales despite gloomy economic conditions.  One of our customer markets is the Medical Illustration departments up and down the country who have contacted us to sort out their growing digital management woes.

We do this by working in reverse and concentrating on how images should be managed from your perspective.  Sometimes it seems that only photographers know that images must be captured, rotated, colour corrected, cropped and sharpened before being delivered to customers.

Having said that, we work with IT departments to integrate our systems with your systems to create a complete workflow process and that’s what we are about.  To date, we have installed solutions that integrate with patient record and job tracking systems designed to make things slick for everyone.

Now, our clients are managing a cumulative total in excess of about one million images and the total looks likely to increase significantly to about 5 million images by next year.
