The Centre of Biomedical Visualization of Bologna University (formerly Scuola Superiore di Disegno Anatomico) and AEIMS (Association Européenne des Illustrateurs Médicaux et Scientifiques) are proud to introduce the first edition of the Giliola Gamberini Award. The aim of the Prize, named after Giliola Gamberini, is to keep alive her work and memory, while promoting the profession of medical-scientific illustrator and the use of illustrations in a clinical and professional setting.
The competition is open to professional illustrators in the medical and scientific field and to students attending specialist schools for scientific illustration. The competition topic is the “Musculoskeletal Illustrative View”.
An exhibition will be staged at the “Luigi Cattaneo” Anatomical Wax Museum at Bologna University (Italy) and a catalogue will be printed showing the artwork selected by the jury.
Competition winners in both categories (professional and student) will receive an Apple iPad as a prize.
Entries and submissions to the competition are solely via registration online and shall be made by 22 March 2015, midnight CET. The prize-winning ceremony will take place in Bologna (Italy) on a date in April/May 2015 yet to be decided.
