After the Paris terror attacks in 2015, NHS & Military staff at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham were asked to collate the lessons learned from working in these extreme environments. Since then these terror attacks have moved closer to home and following the Manchester and London incidents the hospital was once again asked to document advice and guidance in the form of a set of NHS Guidelines for use in a Major Incident which can be used across the UK.
Each Trust has to have its own Major Incident Policy and Business Continuity Plan, but how high up the priority list is Clinical Photography? Feedback from these incidences indicate that ‘Professional clinical photography should be involved sooner in the process then it is at the moment’ .
During this evening Jane Tovey, Medical Illustration Services Manager will attempt to clarify the role of the clinical photography team during these incidences and where the role of the forensic teams comes in to play. We will also hear from Speciality Doctor in Major Trauma Major JJ Lee, as to why they feel our role is such an important one.
The meeting will be on Wednesday 22nd November from 6pm - 8pm at:
The Education Centre
Birmingham Childrens Hospital
