An exciting opportunity has arisen for an assistant practitioner in clinical photography to join our team in NHS Fife.
We provide a multi-skilled support service to NHS staff involved in patient care, teaching, education and research within NHS Fife. The service operates a digital workflow, with a networked clinical image database. We also provide video production facilities, public relations photography, retinal fundus and fluorescein angiography imaging. You will be expected to possess a high level of photographic skill and have excellent computer software skills. You will be given on the job training to photograph patients under supervision in our clinical studio, eye camera room, within wards, out-patient clinics and operating theatres, and to manage these images appropriately. Your interpersonal skills will need to be excellent and you will have a demonstrable interest in clinical photography as a career. Although based at Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy you will also be expected to routinely cover work at Queen Margaret Hospital in Dunfermline.
Ideally, you will have a HND in photography and be willing to work towards gaining entry to the national ACHS register. This position is only available to suitable candidates with an appropriate degree or HND in photography or a recognised media degree as defined by Staffordshire University – details can be found here - http://www.staffs.ac.uk/course/SSTK-06977.jsp. You are expected to undertake the one year, distance learning, post-graduate certificate in clinical photography to gain access to the ACHS register.
