One of the key tasks of the Academy for Healthcare Science is to uphold professional standards across Healthcare Science.
While our continuing ambition is to see statutory regulation put in place across all the Healthcare Science profession, we realise that it is vital to establish an appropriate and effective system for registration and regulation of those parts of the Healthcare Science workforce that are not currently regulated by law through the Health and Care Professions Council.
This document sets out our proposed standards for regulating those Healthcare Science Practitioners who are not already covered by statutory regulation through protection of title. Alongside our proposed standards, this consultation sets out the broader context for this work. We welcome your views on whether these standards are reasonable, appropriate and necessary to ensure safe and effective practice by Healthcare Science Practitioners.
The consultation will run until 28 February 2014. Alongside the consultation document and questionnaire, we will be holding a number of consultation events to allow people to discuss the issues further and share their views.
Respond to the consultation through our online questionnaire
