UCL IT for SLMS Medical Photography and Health Creatives provide a comprehensive photography, design and videography service to UCL School of Life and Medical Sciences, associated Trusts and external clients on a cost recovery basis.
It is comprised of 23 staff, which are based across two sites, The Royal Free London and Great Ormond Street Hospital. This grouping offers a wealth of experience, with a clear focus on excellence; its staff regularly wins industry awards.
Medical Photography and Health Creatives are currently looking to recruit a member of staff to take on the role of Medical Photographer for a teledermatology service (delivered in conjunction with the Royal Free Hospital).
Working alongside one other photographer, the purpose of the post is to provide clinical photography services of dermatological conditions using a variety of equipment including DSLR, dermatascope and portable lighting. The job will be carried out across a number of clinics in North London and the surrounding areas e.g. Enfield, Edgware, Finchley and Barnet.
The post holder should have experience in medical and general photography – ideally in an academic/NHS environment and should possess a degree in a related subject.
The post holder requires experience and knowledge in Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Office and with photography and lighting equipment; they need to be able to work under their own initiative, be conscientious, efficient and have the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people including patients and clinicians.
Ideally the post holder should have a full driving license, use of their own transport or be able to travel by public transport. The job is very physically demanding so must be able to lift heavy equipment.
