Graphic Designer – Band 5
Salary £22,128 - £28,746
We have an exciting opportunity for a Medical Illustrator/Graphic Designer to join our team on a temporary basis for 10 months to provide maternity cover until February 2019 (Full-time 37.5 hours).
The successful applicant will join a team of thirteen including medical illustrators, clinical and ophthalmic photographers. The work is varied, involving all aspects of graphic design with a strong focus on the importance of design in communicating effectively in the development of patient information. Knowledge of the NHS brand guidelines and an ability to juggle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines is also necessary.
The Graphics section of the department is Apple Macintosh based and successful applicants will need to be highly competent in the use of Adobe Creative Suite and also comfortable using a PC with Windows operating systems.
The department is the first Medical Illustration Unit in the U.K. to be accredited with ISO 9000:2015 for its Quality Management System and has a systems-orientated approach to its operational working. The department is progressive and new recruits are required to be forward thinking and enthusiastic in developing the department further.
Applicants should be motivated, conscientious and able to work alone as well as being a committed team player. You will need to be flexible and friendly and be prepared to join a hard-working, busy, and sociable department.
