Fellowship of
the Institute

Fellowship of the Institute recognises excellent abilities and skills and is its highest distinction of the Institute. Applications may be made by Members of the Institute with a minimum of 5 years’ post-qualification experience.

Journal of Visual Communication in Medicine - Members Only

The official peer reviewed journal of IMI. Published four times a year and available free to members from our members page, with full searchable access of online editions back to 1978.

A resource for all Medical Illustrators, and others interested in this field, to use within their professional practice. Provides links to information on areas such as consent, confidentiality, data protection, copyright, ethics and law.

National Guidelines

The National Guidelines have been developed by the Institute as guides to good practice. They are freely available as a resource for all medical illustrators.

Quality Assurance Standards

The Quality Assurance Standards were originally developed by members of the Institute, having investigated a number of national schemes from both industry and the healthcare sector.
