A rare opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Photographer to join our Team of Photographers, Graphic Designers, Retinal Screeners and Administrative Staff in the largest Medical Illustration Department South of London.
Based in Brighton, we provide a multi-skilled support service to NHS staff involved in patient care, teaching, education and research within Brighton Sussex University Hospital Trust and the local health economy.
The service operates a digital workflow, with a networked clinical image database. We also provide video production facilities, public relations photography, retinal screening (as part of the Diabetic Eye Screening Programme, England) and offer a full graphic design and print service.
You will be expected to demonstrate a high standard of photographic skills and possess excellent computer software skills.
You will be required to photograph patients in the clinical studio, on wards, in clinics, operating theatres, the mortuary and in Ophthalmology and manage the images appropriately. Interpersonal skills will need to be excellent.
Based at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton you will also be expected to routinely cover work at Brighton General Hospital and the Princess Royal Hospital, Haywards Heath, as well as other health care facilities across the region. A full driving license is essential.
You will have a recognised clinical photography qualification and ideally, be on the Academy for Healthcare Science register. However, we may consider candidates with an appropriate photographic degree who are not yet registered but who can demonstrate clearly an interest in clinical photography as a career.
This post has arisen as a result of maternity leave and is for a fixed term of 13 months.
