UCL Medical Photography & Health Creatives, based in Great Ormond Street Hospital provides a comprehensive photography, design and videography service to UCL School of Life and Medical Sciences, associated Trusts and external clients on a cost recovery basis. The unit is comprised of 22 staff, which are based across two sites, Great Ormond Street Hospital and The Royal Free London.

We are looking to recruit a Medical Photographer who will be part of a team, comprised of administration, photography, videography and design staff. You will provide clinical and general photography, videography, and medico-legal services as well as task management responsibilities in liaison with the photography staff. Medical Photography Training will be provided if you have a photography qualification and you are an experienced professional photographer.

You have the option of working a 29.2 hrs per week; working Monday to Thursday inclusive or 21.9 hours per week; working on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.

This post is a maternity cover, the duration of which is dependent upon completion of the cover, return of the post holder or cessation of the funding, whichever is the sooner. In the first instance the cover is estimated to be for 1 year starting from September 2019.

You should have a degree in photography medical illustration or an equivalent photography qualification and have experience of working as a professional photographer. Experience and knowledge of image industry standard software, using Mac/PC computers, Microsoft Office are essential criteria for this post as well as having technical understanding of photography and lighting equipment. It is essential that you are able to work as part of a team, be confident in presenting ideas and have the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people including patients, clinicians, academics and clients.
