This year we’re trying something a little different! Our Skills and Service Update event will run over two days.  


We are very excited to finally be able to show you what a fantastic line-up of presentations and workshops we have in store over this two-day event.

17 September Provisional Programme

01 October Provisional Programme

Tickets for 01 October are limited, so book now to avoid disappointment.  The accommodation discount code is only valid until 30 June, but ensure you have your conference ticket confirmed before booking.


Day One: Friday 17 September 2021 – Free admission  

Location: Virtual

A wide variety of presentations, the ever-popular New Voices and the 2021 AGM.  

The programme for the Virtual Event is almost finalised, and we’re looking forward to welcoming many members to this free online webinar on the 17th September: download a PDF version here

Day Two: Friday 01 October 2021 – Chargeable  

Location: Wyboston Lakes Conference Resort, Bedfordshire. 

An array of workshops and Trade stands, affording delegates the opportunity to learn new skills, sample new equipment and broaden their networks with others in the profession  

The provisional programme will be updated with new information so check back regularly and keep your eye on IMI’s Social Media Accounts.

Trade Show

Our Venue 

The beautiful Wyboston Lakes Resort is nestled in amongst a 340-acres site and is conveniently located off the A1 in between Bedford and Cambridge.  For those wishing to extend their stay over the weekend, why not play a round of golf, indulge in the health & leisure centre or even try your hand astand-up paddle boarding or jet skiing (all subject to COVID-19 restrictions)!  A range of great days out are also possible, such as the Shuttleworth Museum, Peterborough Cathedral and Whipsnade Zoo. 


Awards and Prizes 

The annual awards banquet will take place in the Willows Conference Centre on Friday 01 October, where certificates and prizes will be presented to this years’ winners. More information about the awards available can be found here. 


COVID-19 Restrictions 

Due to current, legal, social distancing restrictions, there is extremely limited ticket availability.  We sincerely hope as the year progresses, rules will be relaxed, at which point we will be able to release more tickets.  The Conference planning team will be in constant communication with the hotel to assess availability.  In the meantime, we recommend booking early to avoid disappointment.   


At this time, companies will be limited to booking a trade stand with one representative only. 

Awards Banquet 

Only delegates booking a day ticket are also currently able to book an evening banquet ticket.  A small number of banquet tickets will be reserved to allow award winners to attend the evening if they are unable to attend the day. 

We are unfortunately unable to accept banquet bookings from Trade companies/ representatives at this time. 


A waiting list system will be in place and venue capacity will be reviewed regularly with updates sent out when we are in a position to release more tickets.

Booking System 

The booking system is now live! Tickets for the workshops and trade day on 01 October can be booked by IMI members and non-members, here 

Registration for the virtual event on 17 September will be made available nearer the time.



Accommodation is not included in ticket prices this year.  It is strongly advised not to book accommodation until your conference ticket has been confirmed.  

There are several options available on site and in the immediate vicinity.
