Join us for the 2026 IMI Conference in Glasgow

Glasgow is Scotland’s largest city, located on the River Clyde in the country’s west. Known for its rich industrial heritage, vibrant cultural scene, and strong academic and medical communities, it provides an excellent setting for professional events. The Institute of Medical Illustrators 2026 Conference will be held at the Golden Jubilee Conference Centre, Glasgow, Friday 2nd October – Saturday 3rd October. The conference team are busy curating an exciting and dynamic programme featuring engaging workshops, inspiring presentations, a vibrant trade show, valuable networking opportunities, and a few creative surprises along the way.

  • Ella Eberhardt presenting from University of Toronto on “Let’s talk plainly: impact of accessible medical information for patients”
  • and Matt Poyade from Glasgow School of Art who plans to discuss Re-imagining Medical Communication: Exploration, Immersion, Interaction.

This is only a small selection of our confirmed presenters who will also be covering themes including immersive technologies, neurosurgical patient education, sustainability in practice, and the evolving role of illustrators in healthcare.

The New Voices section will spotlight emerging talent and fresh perspectives on subjects as diverse as:

  • Visualising Remote Care
  • Cultural Sensitivity in Clinical Photography
  • Feedback in Focus

While a wide-ranging workshop programme offers hands-on learning across photography, video production, storytelling ethics, and professional development. With confirmed sessions led by:
