The Awards Team would firstly like to extend their thanks to everyone who entered the 2021 IMI Awards. After the unfortunate postponement of the 2020 Awards due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was fantastic to again be able to celebrate the passion and creativity of our members. Nearly 400 entries were submitted to the 2021 IMI Awards across all categories with 192 of these being successful in winning an award. We would also like to thank everyone who helped to ensure that the 2021 Awards were a huge success despite numerous obstacles posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, including our wonderful judges who held remote judging sessions to ensure the Awards could go ahead as planned.
The biggest change to the Awards this year is that we have decided to expand the Awards Team! We hope that by bringing in members with expertise and experience in different areas, we will be able to streamline the process further in order to ensure that the 2022 Awards run as smoothly as possible. Bethan Flook has been appointed Awards Officer with Shelley Daber acting as Council/Conference Liaison Administrator. Additions to the Awards Team are Jane Fallows (Timetabling and Judge Coordinator), Katie Owen (Web Coordinator), Anthony Edwards (Professional Exhibition Coordinator) and Derek Winckles (Exhibition Catalogue Coordinator). These individuals have been incredibly helpful in the organisation of the Awards in previous years in an unofficial capacity and so will be invaluable assets to the Team moving forward.
We are delighted to announce that the 2022 Awards will officially launch on the 1st of April! The IMI Awards is open to all IMI members professionally engaged in Medical Illustration. As always, the Awards welcomes all subject matter across the photography, graphics and video categories. More information regarding the 2022 IMI Awards will be published in the near future so keep your eyes on the IMI website and social media pages!
