We are certainly living in difficult and changing times and I would like to encourage you all to use your IMI network of friends and colleagues to help you get through the challenging weeks and months ahead.
It is at times like this when members of our community come together with advice and support, so I want you to know that your Officers and Members of Council have had lengthy discussions about the present situation, and to reassure you that much is going on behind the scenes to make sure your Institute continues to function and move forward.
As all Regional Meetings have now had to be suspended due to the Covid-19 virus outbreak, our Regional Reps are working hard to find alternative ways of providing localised training and information-sharing.
A working party is investigating teleconferencing and videoconferencing facilities, which we will employ to replace the next Council meeting in May. The Awards Lead and Education Team are working to ensure that this year’s IMI Awards entries can be judged anonymously online from the various judges’ locations across the UK, and they will use teleconferencing to aid the joint decision-making process.
We will shortly be getting our new team of volunteers to pass on to you relevant messages, so please continue to use IMI’s website, social media and our Members’ Directory to keep our networks alive so that those unfortunate enough to be in isolation can stay in touch with everything IMI!
