Christine was born on 5th April 1949 in Kirkcaldy, Fife and passed away suddenly on 1st October 2019 in Edinburgh Royal Infirmary. As a young child Christine contracted polio and spent many years in hospital in Edinburgh. This left her with a limp but this did not stop her leading an active life. Latterly she had to use an elbow crutch which at Christmas she decorated with fairy lights !
In the late 1960s Christine attended Napier College (now Napier University) studying Photography which led to her employment as a Medical Photographer with Edinburgh University Medical Illustration Service. In 1976 she transferred to the Medical Photography department at the Western General Hospital, Edinburgh where she remained until her retirement in in 2012. During her working years Christine contributed to many research projects. After her retirement she worked part time as a receptionist with NHS Out of Hours Unscheduled Service.
She was a member of the Institute for many years and gained her Associateship in 1986 by a submission of panels of work and was one of the last members to gain Associateship by this method. She was a regular attendee at the annual conference and enjoyed the social side meeting other members.
Christine enjoyed travelling abroad with friends and had recently visited India.
Family was very important to Christine and she is survived by her sons Kyle and Lewis and her grandchildren.
