IMI’s National Council brings together representatives from across the UK and Ireland to guide the organisation’s strategic direction.
The Council comprises: the IMI Chair, Chair Elect, national representatives for Ireland, Scotland, England and Wales, a Student Representative, plus the Education and Marketing Leads (co‑opted). All nine individuals have voting rights.
The Honorary Secretary and Honorary Treasurer sit on Council as non‑voting Officers, managing IMI’s day‑to‑day operations.
Council usually meets six times each year with a mixture of face-to-face and virtual meetings.
To stand for election as Chair Elect, you must be a Professional Member, Fellow, or Honorary Fellow whose subscription is paid up to date and be someone who has previously served on Council or held a senior role within IMI.
This role carries significant responsibility and provides a clear pathway to leading the organisation. The successful candidate will serve as Chair Elect for one year immediately followed by two years as Chair.
As a member of the Institute, you can nominate any Professional Member, Fellow or Honorary Fellow excluding those listed below.
