It’s that time of year again where we want you to start thinking about your entries for the 2024 IMI Awards!

Thank you so much to everyone who entered the 2023 IMI Awards: Altogether, we received an outstanding 520 entries across all categories, and the standard was extremely high.

The 2024 IMI Awards will be open for submissions on April 29th 2024 and close May 31st 2024.

We will be making a few changes to the Awards this year:

Firstly, submissions will be limited to a maximum of three per individual, and as with previous years, this includes joint entries.

This is to ensure that a high standard of entries is maintained but also to allow the judging panel the time to fully acknowledge and recognise each entry.

We will also be making some changes in the way in which we select the judging panel for each category:

We have received a lot of interest from individuals over the years who would like to get more involved with the IMI Awards, and so if you would like to be considered for the 2024 judging panel, please contact Bethan at awards@imi.org.uk to register your interest.

Please provide a short statement explaining why you would like to be considered and what qualities you believe you could bring to the judging panel. This is, of course, also open to any of our previous judges who would like to partake in this year’s judging.

With the rise in prevalence of AI usage, we have been asked where the IMI Awards stands on this issue and what this means for entrants: Entries may not include images that are fully or partially created by artificial intelligence (AI) systems, including generative adversarial networks (GANs) or similar technologies. By submitting an entry, the entrant affirms that the artwork is an original work created solely by the entrant without the use of AI image generation. The competition organisers reserve the right to investigate any entry suspected of violating this rule, which may result in disqualification if AI involvement is confirmed.

We will be bringing you more updates in due course, but in the meantime, thank you all again for your ongoing support to the IMI Awards and we can’t wait to see your submissions again this year!
