Affiliate Membership

Our affiliate membership is for those who are not professionally qualified, but have an active interest in medical illustration and IMI.
Affiliate members receive the same benefits as professional members including access to our knowledge hub, exclusive peer and professional online communities, and educational and training events. The only distinctions being that affiliate members cannot serve on Council and do not have voting rights.
Upgrading from Affiliate to Professional
If you are an affiliate member, but do not hold one of the accredited qualifications, you can apply to upgrade through the IMI Certificate of Competence process (accepted as evidence of equivalence for the purpose of professional membership and registration, if applicable).
The IMI membership committee will provide advice and support to members aspiring to achieve professional membership.
Membership requirements
There are no entry requirements for Affiliate Membership but you need to describe your involvement with medical illustration.

Payment
The IMI subscription year runs from 1st April to 31st March and there are several ways to pay your subscription.
Monthly or Annual Direct Debit – The easiest way to pay is by setting up a direct debit plan with our chosen provider Stripe which spreads your payments over the year.
Invoice – If you would prefer an invoice to be raised against your hospital or business, include this information when registering through the link above.

Reminders will be sent out in March, so please ensure that your email details are correctly listed in the members directory and that you have read our subscription policy. If you are a UK tax payer, you can claim your subscription fee against your tax bill.
