It is with regret we announce the death of John Davies on Tuesday 28th December.
From the 1960’s until his retirement John was the head of department at the Glasgow Dental Hospital having moved there from the old dental school at Newcastle. John was instrumental in establishing IMIS in Scotland in 1966 (the first of its kind in the world), and later with his involvement in IMBI (later IMI) throughout the United Kingdom. He was a true professional, a member of both medical illustration professional bodies and the Royal Photographic Society of Great Britain, coupled with a sense of dedication to Dental Illustration and Photography.
John was always pleasant with a typical ‘north of England’ dry wit and will be missed by his many friends and colleagues. Our condolences go to his wife Joan and son Ian.
