The New Voices session at the IMI Annual Conference was introduced to encourage members who have not presented at a national meeting to do so in a supported environment amongst their peers. Those participating deliver a 10-minute plenary presentation on any (relevant) subject of their choosing that is acceptable to the conference chair. Additionally, within three months of the conference, they are required to provide a synopsis of their presentation (800-100 words) for submission to VISCOMM in a special annual ‘New Voices’ feature.
All New Voice participants are rewarded with a certificate, a free annual subscription, valid from the April after Conference. The best presentation (as voted for by conference delegates) is presented with the Julie Dorrington Award which additionally includes a free full conference ticket. This is not transferrable and must be taken within two years.
For individuals that are new to the profession, this is a great opportunity to present and publish and is a great addition to your CV.
Conditions:
There will be a maximum of six New Voices each year. Entrants must:
