Welcome to the IMI Teledermatology Toolkit. This webpage has been developed for employers, external providers and individuals who are not yet members of IMI but may in some way be involved in Teledermatology services. It is intended to provide resources and information and useful contacts to support services. Whether you are merely investigating how to set up a service or in the initial phases of providing these services, we are here to help you.

Clinical Photography on Mobile Devices Online Training Module

This course was developed by the Institute of Medical Illustrators. Entry for this course will be for those with a health care qualification and experience. It is not aimed at fully qualified, degree entry Clinical Photographers. The student must be employed in an organisation delivering the Teledermatology services, there is an opportunity to have an online clinical photographic mentor to oversee service development and individual CPD portfolios by completing the proforma attached.

This course aims to equip the student with the knowledge, understanding and theoretical skills required to produce a clinically viable quality clinical photograph for use for teledermatology diagnosis and triage. By the end of the 30 min course the student should understand the need to produce consistent quality images using standard operating procedures.

The course will:

• Allow the student to learn all aspects involved in capturing quality images in a secure way, which are legally compliant and diagnostically valuable.

• Provide the theory of image capture and test the knowledge throughout the module.

• Support continuous professional development with the publication of a certificate on successful completion of the course.
